I want to start a monthly series that's just a list of some cool things. I miss the days of ubiquitous blogging and Stumble Upon, since it's actually pretty difficult to explore outside the walled garden of the internet these days. The original blog that this is inspired by is Swissmiss, which is an incredible collection of design goodies. Mine will be less beautiful and all over the place, taking the form of a bulleted list. I hope I can keep it up – we'll see.
- Stories about abuse at Noma (scrollytelling, an interesting peek at the world of haute cuisine)
- The frustrating sizing of women's clothing (scrollytelling from The Pudding, amazing as always)
- Capitalle (online geography game – more addicting than Wordle?)
- E-ink daily dashboards like Timeframe, TRMNL, the Invisible Display (lifestyle tinkering – I love the idea of not having to check a lit screen for basic things like calendars and the weather)
- WARN Firehouse (dataset / information system about layoffs across the US based on legal filings)
- Second Track (music recommendation system)
- Computer Chronicles (incredibly cool series from the 1980s about all things computing – page gives you links to almost every episode to watch on Internet Archive)
